Annual Plumbing Maintenance Checklist
Take the time to go through this quick checklist each year. Preventative maintenance keeps your plumbing system running smoothly and helps you find and resolve small problems before they become catastrophes.
- Pipes: visually inspect exposed pipes for leaks or corrosion. Signs of corrosion are green stains around brass and copper fittings. Also, watch for staining on the floor below pipes.
- Sinks, baths, showers: speed of drainage, caulking, mildew, cracked or loose tiles.
- Toilets: flushing handle, parts inside the tank, seal around base of toilet.
- Water heater: service & drain yearly to prolong life and keep your home safe.
- Faucets: turn on water to check for leaks on handles or valves.
- Washing Machine: check hoses for cracks, leaks or brittleness.
- Boiler: leaks, vibrations, loud or noisy system.
- Drains: slow or smelly drains, gurgling noise or starting to backup.
If you encounter any of these problems, they should be checked and serviced. Give us a call. We can answer any questions or set–up a service call.
